BUD LIGHT

I am a day late and a dollar short. My Nanny used to say that all the time. God rest her soul.

I am going to art journal as much as I can and would like to have several completed by the end of the year.  Some I will bind and some will already be bound.  This is a big experiment for me as I will be using new dies, new stamps and new craft supplies that have never seen the light of day.  I do hope to learn lots of new technique (at least new for me) and improve the quality of my "art work".  Yes, I did use that term loosely! The journals will be full of notes about problems I had and techniques and colors I really liked.  Along with taking a couple of classes, this should be a busy year!

Have I told you bout my cousins Billy Bob and Thelma Sue?   We're from back in the mountains of North Carolina and if you know anything 'bout hillbillies you'll understand what I am about to tell you.

We had a little New Year's Eve party and Billy Bob decided to come decorated as a  Christmas tree.  I guess he got New Years confused with Halloween.  But he sure did look purttie.  Thelma Sue thought she would put one of Billy Bob's fingers into an electrical socket to see if he would lite up like those flashing bulbs he is so fond of using.  Needless to say,  he went out with a bang ... A BIG BANG .......   KABOOM!+#!*#!

              WELCOME TO 2016!!!

Maybe I should have named this - "The Dark Side".  If you click on the picture and make it larger it might look somewhat better.   The image is called Tangled Enthusiasm from Stampotique Originals and I think these "critters" are so hysterical!  But I really need to learn the best way to stamp with them.  They have a lot of lines, consequently you end up with a lot of black ink.

Thanks for visiting and I hope y'all will visit me again.   Billy Bob and Thelma Sue will be back and bringing lots of fried chicken and biscuits n' gravy with them.  Now y'all come back ya hear!

The Announcement

I am happy to inform you that Victor the Vampire Owl has finally fallen in love.  He has openly admitted to being a sucker for blondes with big red eyes.  It is my pleasure to announce the engagement of Victor the Vampire Owl to Shelia the Socializing Skeleton.

An engagement party was held at the Transylvania Hospital's Blood mobile. Refreshing cocktails were enjoyed by all.   Shelia proudly wore her matching marquis cut diamond earrings.  A gift from Victor's Mother.

Carrying wild red roses, Victor looked resplendent in his Elvis knock off tuxedo.

A personal message was included in each and every announcement.

I will keep you posted as to the wedding details.  Please RSVP to Simply Sandy.
Thank you so much!

It's Been So Long

I can't believe I have not posted since January of 2015!  Since then I have moved from the mountains of North Carolina to an island in the Atlantic  known as Amelia Island on the northeastern coast of Florida.  I love it here!

We have also had an adventure in Peru with our grandson Joe, Jr.

The beauty of Machu Picchu!

My husband, me and our grandson Joe.

I loved the children in the Andes - talk about beautiful.

I made a card -- I even surprised myself!!

In the South, we have a tradition which I am sure they follow all over the world.  Any time we can help a friend we usually take food.  I made this for my friend Alie.
Alie is having surgery in September.  I don't think I am telling tales out of school as she has posted it on her blog.   Such a talented lady and so very nice.  Check out her blog!

One more post for today!  A mixed media make that I will paste in my art journal.  I call it 'What Lies Beneath".

What fun - I have experimented with Lindy's Stamp Gang Star Burst sprays, Brushos, Micro Beads Pollen, Cosmic Shimmer Texture Paste Midnight and Designs by Ryn Rising Bubbles.  I really had fun and want to do more!!!!!!

I know this has been a little picture heavy and I sure hope you haven't forgotten me!
Lots of well wishes for all of you out there in Blogland!
