BUD LIGHT

I am a day late and a dollar short. My Nanny used to say that all the time. God rest her soul.

I am going to art journal as much as I can and would like to have several completed by the end of the year.  Some I will bind and some will already be bound.  This is a big experiment for me as I will be using new dies, new stamps and new craft supplies that have never seen the light of day.  I do hope to learn lots of new technique (at least new for me) and improve the quality of my "art work".  Yes, I did use that term loosely! The journals will be full of notes about problems I had and techniques and colors I really liked.  Along with taking a couple of classes, this should be a busy year!

Have I told you bout my cousins Billy Bob and Thelma Sue?   We're from back in the mountains of North Carolina and if you know anything 'bout hillbillies you'll understand what I am about to tell you.

We had a little New Year's Eve party and Billy Bob decided to come decorated as a  Christmas tree.  I guess he got New Years confused with Halloween.  But he sure did look purttie.  Thelma Sue thought she would put one of Billy Bob's fingers into an electrical socket to see if he would lite up like those flashing bulbs he is so fond of using.  Needless to say,  he went out with a bang ... A BIG BANG .......   KABOOM!+#!*#!

              WELCOME TO 2016!!!

Maybe I should have named this - "The Dark Side".  If you click on the picture and make it larger it might look somewhat better.   The image is called Tangled Enthusiasm from Stampotique Originals and I think these "critters" are so hysterical!  But I really need to learn the best way to stamp with them.  They have a lot of lines, consequently you end up with a lot of black ink.

Thanks for visiting and I hope y'all will visit me again.   Billy Bob and Thelma Sue will be back and bringing lots of fried chicken and biscuits n' gravy with them.  Now y'all come back ya hear!

Sandy

First off, you crack me up with your stories. Your journal should be a years worth of your stories then print it and sell it! ;-)
Your guy reminds me of Randy trying to untangle our lights every Christmas. I even bought him cool gadgets to store them on.
Awesome start to your year of journaling. I can't wait for the rest of the year.

I love this! Your work is always so original and refreshing and I'm happy to see you back posting and look forward to your creations.
Billy Bob is a fine specimen, isn't he? The sentiments are perfect for the image and you've made it into a fun, humorous piece instead of something dark and morbid... I like all the sparkle too, it really adds to the 'electrifying' theme!
Great work Sandy!

He's colored adorably and well lit up Sandy! hohoho! You're so creative! Cute story and yes I'm hungry now! I do the tree lights here and never have any problems...but what annoys me is when you're almost ready for company and a string burns out and there you are with a bare spot on the tree! grrrr I put so many on though, that I can move them around and hide it but still!
Happy and BRIGHT New Year to you, Art and family! :D

The Tangled Enthusiasm image really is hysterical, I just love him. I love the beautiful background you created too! I am so pleased that you will be journalling too, alongside Alison and me - I am very new to it and really want to learn, just like you!

I am now following you by email, that way, I will get all your posts. I checked Blogger and you are listed there, so I don't know what went wrong this time. Blogger has been playing silly beggers recently so I am blaming that.

Happy New Year my dear friend, I hope it brings you all you wish for! Big hugs, Anne xx

Holy Sheep dip! Now I can stop leaving messages on that last post! Ha! Ha! I know Billy Bob and thelma Sue. I think they are 3rd cousins once removed, kin to my husband! In fact, it must be, because that is exactly what they would do! Ha! Ha! I have no room to talk; I've been fried a few times myself--really! It is no laughing matter! Ha! Ha! Well, it IS, now!

Great story to go with a great page! I'm going to do what Anne is doing, because I don't get how to follow someone otherwise. I just go visiting every now and again! You bring out the silliness in me, can you tell? I'm SOOOO happy you are blogging again! Hugs!

So good to see you blogging & posting (and making art!) again. Yep, I know about Billy Bobs and hillbillies. This is just cute as can be, great background, and how clever to use the image as the focal point of your art! Can't wait to see all the goodness you'll be sharing, and I know that new sunny craft room is organized to a Purrfect T! Happy New Year. TFS & Hugs (oh yeah, I like fried chicken too).

Thanks for your visit today on my blog Sandy, I'm glad my plaque made you smile as from your posts you certainly like a good laugh and to make others smile too.
I hope you enjoy your new venture in to journaling, I'm sure you will love learning all the techniques and tricks, stamping and inking. It is something I have always enjoyed looking at but never had the gumption to create for myself. My crafting tends to turn out neat and clean but I really like distressed, Steampunk and vintage creations that other talented bloggers produce.
I look forward to seeing your future journal pages as the one above is just brilliant.
