On "Colden" Pond

One of my favorite movies is ON GOLDEN POND.    I must tell you the truth - I made an art journal page but what I wanted did not turned out but when I turned it up side down I found something different.  Oh lucky me!!

What am I doing?  Does somebody know --- all comments are a vote that tell me I am at the right place!!!

Hi there, what a fabulous JP, the colours are fantastic, it certainly looks very "colden".
You were asking if I'd ever thought of doing a journal and the answer is no, but who knows now that I have stopped work and have more time it's something I might have a go at.
Hoping you are well and getting back to normal after all our family visits and the festive season, Kate x

A wonderful page and it reminded me of climbing up the mountains in the Lake District and reaching a frozen Tarn near the top of the mountain. Great memories for me.

Thank you for joining in at Art Journal Journey

OH! Sandy, I love your page, and what On Golden Pond inspired you. LOL... I could not help but smile when I read that what you wanted to do did not turn out as it should have... Does it ever turn out as one wants? ...... In my case, it never does. Sending love. xox

ha ha ha! You do make e laugh, dear Sandy. It's magic when something doesn't work and it works so beautifully in another position. I'm in your cheering section my little piece of apple pie! LOVE it ... and your sense of humour? Simply Superb! Love and hugs, Donna

It looks pretty amazing. And definitely looks like you know what you're doing! Most of the time nothing I do looks like it does in my mind. So usually it's better or it's rubbish bin worthy. Beautifully "colder" is exactly how this page looks.

Sandy, I tried turning my head so I could see what your original plans are, but it sure looks like a Cold (en) Pond to me, even if I'm standing on my head! I think you are in the right place, dear! LOVE these colors and the snowy banks! Your pond looks downright REAL! Well done! Big hugs!

Well done you for turning it, although without standing on my head I think it probably looks just as good the other way up too! I just love your 'pond', the colours are fabulous and the mirrored image in the pond looks brilliant. Personally, I think you did a fantastic job on your journal page! Hugs, Anne xx

Hello !
This is fabulous, My God, so lovely ! Love the reflections, the colors (brrrr it's cold :-))). A serene scene, congrats my Sandy ! xxx

(often for my cards, I say "I'll put bright colors", and end up in very light colors hihi).

Love this, it looks so calm and serene. How fabulous that you were able to retrieve what you thought had gone wrong and create this lovely journal page. That is the beauty of art - there is never a disaster just an opportunity to create something else.
Take care and enjoy your weekend.

Like someone else in your comments this reminds me of a hike in Colorado. Hours to get to the top and last part climbing boulders to get to the most serene lake surrounded by mountains. It was just breathtaking! Isn't it fun to realize that with art journaling there are no disappointments either you can do it over or as you did flip it around! Your colors send chills down my spine as it is below zero here. You made an amazing page Sandy! Well done my friend!

I love this! The colours are fabulous and I really like the sparkly paste.
I don't know Sandy... I tried to visualize this the other way around (upside down) and I can't. I think this is how it's supposed to be but to be honest, with your wonderful flair, downside up or upside down... it would look great either way!

This is stunning Sandy - beautiful depth and chill. Yep I remember the movie - loved it too - seems so long ago. Saw Jane Fonda on TV the other night at the Golden Globes ceremony - She looked fantastic tho her makeup may well have been layered very thick. She wasnt looking too impressed with the antics of the horrible R Gervais and his nasty hosting and I shared her disdain! Enjoy your weekend. Nicola x

You never know how art will turn out, I am the same way. This one is gorgeous and looks like you totally planned on winterly scene. I love the chill and peace it has and the colors are fabulous. The texture is beautiful and pulls it all together. Perfection. Is your son and his wife giving you another grand baby? How fun. Hope all is well with you and wishing you and Art a Happy New Year.

The view across your Colden Pond is stunning, Sandy - and the cold colours are icily brilliant... I wouldn't want to dip my toe in that water - I think I'd lose it to frostbite. Stunning textures and so atmospheric ... a really wonderful page of art (and who cares which way up it started?!). Magical.

Hope your Sunday is being good to you.
Hugs,
Alison xx

How fortuitous Sandy,
To just turn something upside down and ‎voilà! It's gorgeous and I love the words. Very clever indeed.
I hope you've had a wonderful weekend and are ready for a fun-packed week ahead ;D

Well I for one don't know what the heck you were going for, BUT whatever it was, I don't care that you didn't achieve it because what you've got here is AMAZING! It honestly looks like you set out to create this beautiful pond with trees and snowy ground and the fabulous reflection. It looks a genius sat down and knew exactly what she was doing when she started. I'm happy to hear that the art took you on a journey instead and you had fun just playing with your paints. It really is a fantastic piece of art and of course your humor is HILARIOUS!!!
Big hugs to you Sandy,
Lisa x
