Darn!

Darn!  No chocolates.  No roses.  No dinner in a fancy restaurant. Double darn!  Did I miss Valentine's Day?
Actually I rank Valentine's Day right up there with Ground Hog's Day.  In fact, those cute little critters might be a lot more fun to work with.
But make a Valentine Tag I did for the February Tim Holtz Tag Challenge.  I am trying very hard to follow him this year.  And of course I did not have half the stuff he used although I am sure what I have paid for his trip to the United Kingdom.  And his blackboard technique?  Yeah right, I spent two days trying my bestest to make it work.  No luck so I did my own technique found on YouTube.  Well I guess it really wasn't my technique now was it?

I am entering this tag into the Tim Holtz February Tag Challenge.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.  So sorry about the cold temps that my friends in the northern United States are suffering.  We actually had seven inches of snow the other day but it is melting faster than I would like.  I know that the United Kingdom has had a time with flooding and I understand that France has not gotten off  Scot free either.  Believe it or not, there was a 4.1 earthquake about 150 miles south of us last night.

I do hope y'all are well and enjoying this sport as much as I do!!

Love your tag Sandy!! And you know what, YOUR blackboard technique looks fantastic, to me the end result is important and I think it has turned out great! Love the way you have embellished it too.

No flowers or anything else here either, but then hey, there is more to love than chocolate and flowers right?

Really fabulous take on the tag, Sandy - the text and hearts layered in the background look wonderful, and I love all the hearts.

And you know how I feel about V-Day, so I'm with you... but I tend to buy my own chocolate just to be on the safe side!

Brilliant design and I like those background hearts and all the different kind of chipboard ones. I think I am going to go to his site and check this out... I'd like to follow along and do his tags because this is lovely! Thanks for the inspiration my friend!

Hello Sandy your tag is gorgeous, lovely colours and design.
Yes the weather is so awful in the South of England Sandy, it's heartbreaking for those who are victims, we have been lucky up here in the Highlands, long may it last, hugs Kate x

Hi Sandy!

Hope you stayed safe after your snow - no more acrobatics from you or anything!

Aww - I really like your tag full of hearts. No idea with the blackboard technique is - but what you've put on your card certainly looks like one, so I give you TOP MARKS!

Hugs to you my friend, Sarn xxx

Hi Sandy,
Awesome tag! Hearts are my favorite image. So you batted a thousand there for me.
You can sure tell I'm not a native North Dakotan as I have done nothing but complain about the sub-zero temps here. When you live 50 miles from the Canadian border "Canadian cold front" takes on a whole new meaning! Tomorrow is supposed to be 42º!!
Have a great week Sandy!

You scored big with this TH tag, Miss! I always love seeing how all of you adapt his techniques with the supplies you have. To me that takes more creativity, than just following persazkly as he does it. (Like that word?) I hear some locals felt the quake, but we didn't know about it, until a blogger emailed me. I was prob'ly asleep. Had to laugh about your funding TH's UK trip. His stuff ain't cheap, is it? I love your tag, the bright hearts & the key. For somebody who doesn't like Hearts day, you did swell! TFS & our snow is still patchy around the area. I'm ready for it to Be GONE! Hugs.

I think your tag is great. I don't have all that stuff Tim has either.

As for Valentine's Day... I'm with you.. almost as much fun as Ground Hog's day. The best part is 1/2 price candy the day after. :)

Love your tag, Sandy. I always think it's almost more fun when we don't have everything we need - allows us to stretch our brains! No flowers etc. here either! My girlfriend did give my a lovely rose made beautifully out of coloured marsh mellows! Like an idiot I ate it. YUK! So that's it for this year. :o) Thanks so much for dropping into my blog when I haven't been visiting anyone. You are such a sweetie. Take care. big hugs, Donna

Sandy you made me chuckle to read that you financed Mr Holtz's trip to the U.K. - so funny!
Good on you for finding a technique that suited you because your tag is fabulous, love those ever so sparkly hearts.
Seriously, did you place an order after viewing my altered papier mache suitcase, if that is true then you made my day (not that I personally reap any benefits - just nice to know that you fell in love with the stamps.)
Have a great week.

Fabulous!! Love your style on this Tim tag!! The layers of background and stencils are so beautiful on your tag.I love the chain with the heart at the top. Nice corners. You sure are having odd weather, sorry about the snow melt, we just got 6 more inches yesterday! I bet if you come here to enjoy the snow it would be as deep as you are tall!
Have a great day,

If you want a wonderful Valentine, make it yourself! And you did! This is fantastic and I doubt that Tim could do any better. We still have a bit of snow lying around. It's supposed to be in the 70s tomorrow so goodbye snow. For now anyway!

Well, Sandy, I think you did a pretty darn fabulous job with your first Timmy Tag! (Hmmm, I'm not sure if Tim followers like it when people call him Timmy so maybe I should stop doing that.) Anyway, considering you aren't a proponent of VD (what?), you did an excellent job making a glittery heart love tag, complete with a key!! Hugs, Darnell

Sandy, I admire your for attempting to follow Tim Holtz. He is amazing but he does use lots of stuff. Things are busy here for me, you know the waiting on a man and I just get settled in with laundry or something else and he needs again. He is really doing pretty good, threw the walker behind a chair and doing good with a cane. There is a lot he still can't do but he is getting there. I am trying to keep up with my friends but still behind most of the time. Hope you are having some good weather. We've had a week of warm weather and now as of tomorrow back to a chance of snow and really cold again for a week, then warming again. By the way,I love your tag.
