Glass-Fastic Christmas Flower

Good Morning or afternoon depending on where you live - I am late in posting this.  I did not get a picture of my card last night as planned so waited until this morning.  I am happy to report the picture looks great thanks to my picture taking and computer whiz husband.

This card is for a Christmas Card Club I belong to -- Thanks Kate for asking me and all of your help Margret and Mary!!!  I don't know many techniques but the ones I do know I really like.  Here I made a Poinsettia  out of plastic packaging and alcohol ink.  Our challenge was to use texture.

I hope this note finds you all well and having a wonderful Super Bowl Sunday.  Go North Carolina Panthers! I know that those of you in the UK do not know American football.  Let's just say it's a couple of hours with 22 men in really tight pants running around on a big field making each other fall while trying to get a ball over the goal line.  Gosh those pants are tight!  This is one of the best days of the year - Super Bowl Sunday.

Thanks for taking time to visit me and as always I appreciate you leaving some love.
Sandy

How pretty this is Sandy. The plastic poinsettia is a technique I haven't tried before, but looks amazing and I love the beautiful texture on the background mats. Hopefully you will read this comment after you have had your fix of tight pants today :) Take care,
Lorraine

Oh wow Sandy, your poinsettia is fabulous!! What a fabulous card, I just love it!

I just knew the Superbowl must be a big event because it has been all over the Sport News over here too. Hope your preferred team win for you! Big hugs, Anne xx

Lovely closeup view of your pretty poinsettia card dear Sandy!
The petals do have a fragile glass look with your cool technique.

Great idea to get a jump on Christmas card making too.

Even though I've been in a house full of men all these years football is my least favorite sport. That said the tight pants are a highlight along with the half time performances and the commercials which I normally would tune out on a regular day LOL.

Have fun and may the best team win :-)

I was late arriving too, so we'll stand in the corner together (hmm, noticed some others missing, so we'll have some fun company). Love your idea to use the alcohol inks & plastic to make this glorious poinsettia. It really looks so pretty over the white embossed background, then adding in the luscious red embossed mat. Love all the matting you've got here, and adding in the script stamping with the alcohol inks, yummy texture indeed! TFS & have a great week.

Sandy, you never fail to make my day! I am laughing so hard, I almost peed myself! I for one, am not watching football; I'm here reading your post and admiring your beautiful Christmas card...Oh, I love that poinsettia, I do! Good for you to get those cards done early! I'm afraid I might not find them if I started making them now! Ha! Ha!

We visited Charlotte this weekend for a college interview for my daughter and everyone had their homes decorated in the Panther way! Even here, everyone has their Panther shirts on! My husband is native to Asheville, but is still rooting for the Broncos!

I haven't seen you around my neck of the woods lately...are you sick of my stuff? Hugs:):)

And yes, the boys in the tight pants... the only reason I can sit through football. hahahaha... hubs loves the game but not me so the boys in tight pants are the entertainment!

Well, I was all about being bedazzled by your awesome poinsettia card, Sandy, but then you started talking about those dudes in their tight football jersies and I started daydreaming about yesterday's game and ... what card?! Sorry, your Panthers didn't win. That was quite a surprise for everyone! We've been finally getting quite a lot of days of much-needed rain, but it was wonderful to have a warm sunshiney day for the game here!! Enjoy your day! Hugs, Darnell

Sorry I'm late this time Sandy. My pc had to be put down, and I now have a new one, but still learning and finding my way around it. What a fabulous card Sandy, I forget about some of the older techniques I learned. Hope your team won honey. Hugs Rita xxxx

You say tomato, I say tomato....some like it for tight pants others for the food and commercials...LOL. Sorry about your team though. I didn't have a preference once the Chiefs fell out, but it was still fun to be part of a tradition. Your card is GORGEOUS, Sandy. I love that you recycled packaging materials for this. The imagery on the leaves is beautiful and really a striking card to take in. You really are grabbing this Christmas card challenge by the 'sleigh bells.'
Big hugs,

Hi Sandy

I used to quite like watching American Football so I'm familiar with the odd hail Mary and a safety.
Best wishes.

Hi Sandy! Wow, I do love this beautiful poinsettia. It's such a fun technique and every time I throw plastic packaging away the thought flashes through my mind to keep it and have another play. That's as far as it goes though.

Spotted your comment over at Sarn's about the Pancake Day race. Why not come and play in the Snippets Playground with us? It's a weekly challenge and you only need to include at least one scrap or snippet n your entry. Leftover plastic packaging would count :-) It's good fun and the girls who join in are lovely!

Hugs
