Under the Sea

The seaweed is always greener  - in someone else's lake
You dream about going up there - but that is a big mistake!

I made this large tag for Compendium of Curiosities 3 Challenge #1  Now you are going to have to go to this site to see what it is all about but I am going to have gobs of fun with this challenge   If you are a Tim Holtz fan and want to try out some new techniques, then this is the place to go!! Thanks for doing this Linda - I am a big fan!!  Now turn to page 43 in your A COMPENDIUM OF CURIOSITIES book and have fun.    Sorry, I can't tell you anymore than that.
Once again, the colors are not true to form for the tag really has more  background aqua.  I just could not get the colors right in the photo.  I did use some evergreen bough distress paint but you sure can't tell it from the picture.

Now I have some treasures to show you!!!

This is my new Art journal and I can assure you that the picture does not do the colors justice.  It has been made by my talented friend Valeried-Jael.  I do love Valerie's blog - from her wonderful art work to her walks along the Rhine, she is a delight to follow.  I can't forget the delicious looking food she shows us once in a while.  What a cook she must be!!

The Hebrew letter on the hand spells the word "chai" which means "life"

Beautiful wall hanging!

I wish you all could see this up close and personal.  This piece by Valerie is so beautiful.  I have told Valerie before that I love it when she uses Hebrew text on her art work.  So much of Valerie's work seems to me like it is bubbling up from the core of life.  And then when she uses the Hebrew text on her work it is even more special.  This text means "He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge" ... The Book of Psalms.  Thank you so much Valerie - I will treasure this beauty.

Valerie has some of her art journals for sale on her blog Bastelmania.
They are all a feast for sore eyes!

I do appreciate you taking the time to visit me - there are so many fun and talented people to follow and I do know how precious time is.
Thanks for you kind words.
Sandy xx

That sentiment you wrote was almost chilling, let me see... Oh here it is.."You dream about going up there - but that is a big mistake!" It's like the mermaid that wishes she had land legs; but gosh...does she really want to take that journey?
What a beautifully deep, gorgeous, and thought provoking creation you've made here. Not only is your work one to be admired, but you've certainly given us a smorgasbord of inspiration today with your friend's artwork!! I'm all gaspy over here. Let me repeat...gasPy..not GASSY! ;)

Those underwater eyes are really something special. Love this tag, and you are rocking, girl. Your water looked just right to me! Loved enjoying all these other tags and had to keep reading to realize you didn't make these. I'm thinking "WOW!" until I read further. Of course you know the last one with the birds will be my fav, and I loved the text meaning. She's a fabulous artist and will check out your link. Way to Go, Miss TH jr. You & Redanne are the best at interpreting TH I think. TFS & Hugs
