Bear of a Summer

Well I tell you friends and neighbors - it has been one bear of a summer!

Yep - here he comes and he knows where there is food!!

Well you might think he is doing a pole dance but I tell you he tore down two of my bird feeding poles.  Normally, bears come around in the evening when it is dark and we always have the feeders in.  But this is a teenager and he does not know the rules of the game.  So we eventually took down the feeders to discourage him from thinking there was free grub at the Dehon house.

Well this should have been my warning - after having such a good time at the beach with the grands it all fell apart in a hurry.  And I mean fell apart.  On the night of June 25 I fell on our deck and broke my left hip. I tell you, it did not really hurt - that is, as long as I did not move.  We are now on the mend.  I overdid it last week and am paying for it now --  I also managed to come down with bronchitis this weekend.  Now there is nothing more pathetic than a slightly older lady, limping around on a cane and coughing so hard she wets her pants. I am sure you senior citizens know what I mean.

I want to thank all of you who have sent me the most gorgeous cards -- I really appreciate it more than you will ever know.  I also appreciate all of you who have e-mailed to say you missed me and asked me how I have been doing.  Well we are going to get back into the swing of things. So I have posted a card that I made for a challenge group I belong to on Splitcoast Stampers.

Twinkle, twinkle over glued.  With my naked eye I could not see the glue shine but that stupid camera does not lie!!!  It sure did cost a lot of money to be so stupid.

I am entering this card into the following challenge and then will send it on to the proper people who will send it to a Children's Hospital.  I understand that little boys love to smear glue!

Send A Smile 4 Kids - anything goes 4 kids

Well I did chatter a lot today didn't I -----I do appreciate your visit and you do know that all your comments but a big - really big smile on my face!!!!
Sandy

Hello dear Sandy, how nice to read you, in one way, and sad to read that all things are not well. I would have hope that by the time everything would have come back to almost normal. your little bear made me laugh, him, along with my racoons & skunks would make a lovely zoo!

I certainly hope that you take some rest, and heal from this bronchitis..I'll make you laugh. when in the 40,s I did some famous bronchitis...and did wet my pants! I was young at the time.

your card is very sweet, I love this cute image. and the lovely flowers you decorated it with. take care & and come back to blogland healed. XOXO

Awwwwwww Lovely Sandy, it is so nice to see you posting. I love that little bear even if he is a naughty so-and-so he looks so cute but I bet he'd eat me if I went in for a cuddle. I love your latest card & I hope you will be better soon to post some more as I love popping over to read what you've been up to! Take Care xxx

Hi Sandy and it's really lovely to "see" you back in blogland. I am so sorry about your accident and to hear that you now have bronchitis on top of that. Wishing you the speediest of recoveries. I know exactly what you mean about the camera never lying about glue -- just how does it see it?! Regardless of glue, tis a really cute card which will certainly put a smile on a child's face. It certainly did on mine -- and that bear most certainly did too! I can't even imagine having a bear in the garden, but then I'd be a bit worried if we did in the UK!

I am so happy to see you on your blog today!! You are one tough lady, a little set back and onto the cards. Your image is adorable, he looks like my little on with his dog. I love the scene you made and What glue? LOL Your card is fantastic and a great to see one from you!

Well first of all, your card is so cute and I love the little scene. Isn't that crappy how you don't see the glue or a crooked layer until it's too late? I usually don't notice it until it's posted... anyway, I'm starting to ramble and the long and short of it is that I wouldn't even have noticed the glue if you hadn't pointed it out and even then, you have to really look hard to see it.
I have been wondering where you are but a bear and a broken hip are a pretty good explanation. I would be very frightened if I saw a bear on my deck... I don't even like bugs!
And a broken hip... my gosh girlie, you seem to have action and excitement in spades! Take care of yourself and take it easy. No dishes, no vacuuming, no dusting and you get the recliner and the remote every night.

Sandy, I just keep laughing over this post...between the bears, the cane, and wetting your pants, my cheeks hurt from laughing so much, although in reality it is not funny, but you know I love ya! Everytime I catch a cold and cough or sneeze, I have to cross my legs my dear, or I too will wet my pants...no it isn't fun getting old...my mind says I'm not, but my body tells me different, and that doggone mirror, I need to throw it clear out into outerspace!!! Hugs! Leah Ann

Such a sweet card. There is nothing sweeter than a little boy and his dog :) I am so sorry to hear of all your mishaps :( I too have been thinking you must be enjoying a wonderful summer and instead you have been bravely suffering a broken hip, bronchitis and bears. I am praying that things are now going to turn around for you and all will be bright again. I love your creations and have missed both them and you.
Get well soon.
