Degas

It's the 15th of April and time for Inventory Challenge # 27.  I was sent a picture of the famous painting "The Ballerinas" by Edgar Degas.  Now what in the world could I possibly know about ballet living all the way back here in the hills of North Carolina.  Why the closest thing Mama and I saw to ballet was when we went to the Asheville Auditorium to see Holiday on Ice staring the one and only Sonja Henie.  We even waited at the stage door after the performance to get her autograph.  By the way, we did the same thing when Mama took me to see "The Singing Cowboy" -  Mister Gene Autry himself!!   Let the dance begin!!!!

Such a beautiful little ballerina!

What a beautiful painting!

What a talented young lady!!!

I certainly hope you will visit my very talented teammates - and see what they did with Monsieur Degas.

Well my friends, that's it for this challenge - I hope I made you chuckle or at least smile real big!  Love hearing your comments, they make me smile real big!

Oh Sandy, she is adorable! Love the coloring, love the base of the card, the colors are soooo beautiful! You go girl. Such a sweet image. I saw these images, and was not sure if they are digital. If they aren't, how do they come? I know I won a free stamp from Simon Says and it was just the rubber and I have to use Tack and Peel and I don't like that stuff! I want to be able to take my image out and stamp it :O) I got so use to the wood blocks, I have trouble using the others, spoiled I guess :O) k sara sara

Oh speaking of ballet. When I was in grade school, we lived in Colorado. I took Ballet classes, getting ready to move to the wooden toes, and we moved here to Indiana. Dad had a blood clot go through his lung in his 30', Mom had a ruptured appendix, almost died, my brother the mumps fell on him, he was real sick, then I had rheumatic fever, so when we moved back, no money. To top it off at a motel in Missouri, our U-haul caught on fire and lost about everything....I don't know Mom and Dad got through all that stuff at once, but the Good Lord got them through it :O) Teaches you as a child to truly appreciate what you have.

Hi sweetie!
I'm sorry for being so late but be sure I cannot miss any of your cards. I looked at it a few days ago but you know I'm slow at commenting:). You make me feel ashamed for being always so sweet and answer my comments. I always look forward to hear from you, dear friend.
Now, this cute card here is soooo adorable. That Degas painting is magnificent, I can tell you, I've always loved painting and French Impressionism particularly and Degas's ballerinas are simply fabulous. You did a terrific job choosing this cute LOTV stamp. I simply love them, you know that, and the colrs you chose are gorgeous too. Your coloring is so very beautiful and I love the gradient DP to match the painting.
It's so beautiful Sandy! I don't want to hear you saying anymore you're not enough skilled or something , you are extremely talented and so clever in putting everything togeter marvelously.
Love the "degirl", I bet Degas himself would laugh out loud if the poor man were still alive...lol
You"re the best sweetie and I just love your story about Mama, I'm just sad my English is not good enough to express exactly how I feel.
Luv you sweetie,
Iulia

Oh my gosh, the background on the front is gorgeous, I love that LOTV stamp (sadly mine hasn't seen ink yet). Your inside is so cut with the believe sentiment. Really great way to use the Degas painting for inspiration.
