Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil

Welcome to midnight in the garden of good and evil!  My good friend Pat Frank is on a romantic holiday with her husband Gil in Savannah, Georgia.   Savannah has such beautiful, old cemeteries!  Lots of old oak trees with silver gray  Spanish moss hanging down creating a right spooky atmosphere.  But the crown jewel is the Mercer house and the murder that took place in this grand old southern mansion.  You think I'm kidding?  Heck no!  All you have to do is read MIDNIGHT IN THE GARDEN OF GOOD AND EVIL by John Berendt and you'll know that this is a true story of intrigue!  Mama gets all wrapped up in the cemeteries and walking by the Mercer house while casually trying to peek in the windows.  Why she gets so excited she has to go eat a big plate of shrimp and grits. And I imagine that is what Pat is doing too!

Speaking of intrigue, Mama  has always had cats running around.  She said they kept the mouse population down.  I don't think she addressed the cat population!!    So Mama,  this card is for  you and I am calling it "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil".

At the heart of the matter. . . .

By the way, that's a great scene card you created....loving it!!!!
Always love reading your stories....my neighbor had 20 cats to keep the mice in check and, like your mother, she NEVER addressed the cat problem!

Hello Sandy, I love reading your story, you had me hooked there, I was expecting something with regards to the murder... Well, it was women'day on the 8, and true, to make history one has to get noticed!Your scene is very lovely, those houses are fun to color aren't they?
So glad to have you back.
have a nice day

I can't believe that you, Danielle and I all colored those houses this week. (I colored them but never put them on anything yet). Great framing layers on the inside. I could go on & on.

Sandy your card is fantastic as usual. I always love your cards. You always do as much to the inside as the outside. I haven't read this book but have the movie on DVD and it is a great movie I love it.

Sandy, I want to read that book now! I love getting scared but then regret it soon after cuz then I don't want to leave my bedroom. Not even to go to the bathroom! I remember one time I was in Ecuador and one of my cousins was telling a scary story. It was true apparently and took place in her house (which we were in). And I had to go to the bathroom. I made my other cousin stand in the bathroom while I used it! I didn't want to be alone I was terrified!!!

Sorry if it's TMI, haha. But thank you for the book recommendation and the beautiful card. You know I always look looking at your work and reading your stories. And being from New England I love anything Southern.

Hugs,

Jackie

p.s. I put two new cards up this morning that you haven't seen if you want to pass by!

Well Mountain Mama...you're right about a couple of things...I am eating shrimp & grits...every chance I get! The Mercer House is very cool...and did you know, he was tried FOUR times for that crime and was never convicted! Oh...but...Spanish Moss is neither Spanish nor moss. It's actually part of the pineapple family. Well, at least that's what they told us on the Trolley!! I want you to know that I'm paying $12.95/day for internet so that I can see your latest fcreation! Now tell me how mahhhhhvelous I am!! Your card is so stinkin' cute, Sandy! I'm not a cat person...allergic, as a matter of fact! But I tell ya, some of thoise cats are a hoot! I love the scruffy on on the front of the card...and the ones inside are a hoot!! Love the sentiment too! Your scene is fabby, as always!! Gotta run...there are some shrimp and grits somewhere in the amazing city with my name all over them!! Have a great weekend!! Pat

no cats for me Sandy - never gotten close enough to find out if I am allergic! : ) Adorable scene, I've been wondering what that street light worked up like! cool!
Hmmm... gotta think about this sentiment. A lot of women in history were troublemakers but then I think of the underground railroad lady... can't think of her name right this minute but she was amazing and made history!

Hi, Sandy! He he! Quite a story here again! And I have this feeling someone has a grudge against someone else being on a romantic holiday;)). Still, I bet your story wouldn't ruin the charm of that lovely lady's vacation. On the contrary. To me your story seems quite romantic. Well, morbid romanticism, but nevertheless romantic;))
Love the glittery elements and the gorgeous background. Love your coloring and the sweet contrasting inside.
Adorable work, Sandy, as usual!
If you're interested in a blog award, feel free to grasp the one at my blog. I know it takes some time to deal with the requisites, but I would like to give it to you anyway;)

Hi Sandy,
You're Back I see!! Bravo.
GREAT scene - made me wonder what those cats had on their mind until I saw the inside. Now I know they aren't any different from the rest of society LOL
You have your night so dark and mysterious - love it and all the sparkle. Inside is a real chuckle :o)
Great work my friend.
Hugs, Candy
