Everything But ......

I looked at my tag and thought  gosh - this has everything on it but the kitchen sink.  You want tacky?  I can make tacky!!!!  Actually, I made this for Our Creative Corner.  The challenge this month is called 'No More Shopping Sins".  Lordy, Lordy - this is right up my alley.  I bought some Kraft Glassine paper sometime ago and just now opened it and made some flowers. Just had to try out that wonderful 5 cent stamp and then broke out some new Frantage.    I am going to try very hard not to buy anything new and use what I have.  I am already going into withdrawal !!!

Have you ever been to Disney World and had one of their Everything But The Kitchen Sink sundaes?

This picture was taken several years ago when Joe Jr was around two years old.  Now he is in the fourth grade and is quite the handsome young man.  The little girl is his sister Caroline who is now in the seventh grade.  And then there is me happy as a lark.  But would you take a look at that sundae!  Believe me - it is full of stuff !!!!!

I do so appreciate all of you followers out there in Blogland.  And a big thank you for your sweet and sometimes funny comments.  There are times when  you just drop in to say hello.
Sandy xx

Hi Sandy, I love your tag the stamp is perfect for the title and your flowers are lovely. I 've still got some of that craft glassine somewhere. I really don't need to buy another thing but do you know what ? I've got that jumbo tattered florals die on pre order! Bad girl that I am! Thank you so much for your lovely comments, they always make me smile and usually chuckle! Very best wishes to you and yours for a very happy and healthy new year ! Toni xx

Love the bag lady! lol She is so perfect for the challenge and fits well with you tag. Love the background you made, very beautiful and you Frantaged it so nicely. I get big spots and yours are sprinkled so lightly across the tag like it should be. Your flowers are gorgeous with the metal brads! I laugh thinking about our conversations and the "oh Dear" is so funny. I wonder how many "Oh Dears" we are going to keep getting away with? lol
Beautifully done and thanks for sharing the ice-cream photo too. mmmmm indulgence is a good thing!
Love you,
Kelly

Great tag, Sandy! I like a little grunge look and she's such a cute image. I keep trying not to add to the supplies and use what I have, but for some reason I always feel like I need just a little something more with each project. Sometimes it just has to be that it's the thought that counts. lol

I guess I love kitchen sinks because your tag is wonderful!! That sundae looks sooooo good. And good luck on not buying anything new...let me know what it feels like:)

Your tag is great and I think you did a fine job of designing this. I hope you and Art are doing great and hopefully you aren't knee deeo in snow. We have about 6 inches of snow but the bad news is our morning low was -14. Very cold here and it is supposed to do it again tonight so we are locked in staying warm. Son Steve came by on his way home from work, had stopped at the grocery store for me because he didn't want us out and taking a chance on falling. We are good. Glenn is having knee surgery on Jan. 17th. Take care of yourselves.

Wonderful tag! I love it too when I can shop from my stash. This year I am trying to spend my money mainly on non consumables.
Anything consumable has to be about 50% off or more. Preferably more!

Your glassine flowers are wonderful and the 5 cent stamp looks great!

Sandy, your tag is fabulous! The background is beautifully done with those touches of Frantage - love that, and the bag lady is just perfect, so like most of us crafters! Your glassine flowers are beautiful and I love the coin at the top too. Thanks for your wonderful friendship and also leaving me such lovely comments during 2013. Hope 2014 is a good one for you - no more broken hips for either of us.

Thanks too, for joining in the fun over at Our Creative Corner. Big hugs, Anne x

I was doing so much better today and then I'm reading your post and then all the sudden the frustration comes rushing back in. Do you know that Hobby Lobby doesn't sell Frantage (at least online they don't). Do you know that I've been holding on to a gift card there from Mom for months now, that I refuse to spend because they can't carry something cool like that? It just torques my shorts that this huge store can't carry one little itty bitty bottle of uber coolness...for crying out loud! However, I'll put aside my rant and torment to tell you that your tag is just FABULOUS! It has the humor that I just love and the piece of coinage to be symbolic of the theme and the image and sentiment appease the challenge to a T. I'll also take the high road and say that your Frantage is the perfect adornment to your project. :)

I feel much better now...thanks for lending your ear..LOL...as if you really had a choice in the matter!

HUGS!!

Hi Sandy, Happy New Year. I love your quirky tag and those fab flowers.........the photo is great, have never seen a sundae so huge, it certainly makes my mouth water...nmmmmm, hugs Annette xx

Neesie said...

Oh Lordy indeed Sandy...that's never a sundae? It's more like a super splendid sauna with bubbles and bling! Surely you'd just dive right in?!!!?!
I don't think little Joe Jnr would have a problem with that, by the look of sheer delight on his little cute face :D
I loved your tag by the way, but I'm afraid I got a little distracted by the sundae. Well who could blame me?
Have a wonderful week and thanks for always being so supportive to my blog ;D

Oh my, you've redesigned your blog! Love it (Loved it before too!) I adore this tag, and I KNOW you meant it for ME! The frazzled little lady even looked like me after one of our shopping trips....Oh this was so so cute. You have my total support in using up your 'stash', and then I hope you will hold classes in teaching how to overcome the need to 'go buy just one more thing'. Your tag is as adorable as can be, and the 5cents was THE perfect finish. Loved those pretty flowers too. Hope you didn't freeze last night. Pretty darned cold around here. (at least the sun is shining - !) Hugs & TFS.

Thanks so much for playing along with us at Our Creative Corner!

Also the sundae looks amazing... my brother and I have never forgotten Farrells Ice Cream Parlor in D.C. which we visited as kids in 1980 - lots of similar looking concoctions!

"Oh dear" in deed! I've managed to keep away from the sales, but with Archiver's shutting their doors I might just have to have a look in! Love the cute tag and that Sundae is just crazy! What are those pipe thing sticking out of it??!! I realised I never answered a question you had asked me about those two white bowls on my fireplace!! They contain plain water and help humidify the family room, the winter air is so dry, we also have a whole house humidifier on our furnace too, but a bit more never hurts!

Hugs from the deep freeze!

Your tag is proof that we can make beautiful creations, even with old things! The flowers you've made with Kraft Glassine paper are simply gorgeous!
It's true, it's so tempting to always buy new stuff, but I realized that I often do not even use half of what I bought and I have stamps, I 've never used! .....I should try to participate in this challenge, too! laughs

I wish you a Happy New Year Sandy, joy and health to you and yours.

Amazing tag, Sandy! Love it! Such a great idea to use up the old stuff. But I just know I can't commit to that. Not with all the new stuff that is going on right now. I've seen to many things I need to have LOL. But to be fair, I sold some of my old stuff I just didn't use or liked anymore. So now I'm allowed to buy new things :). Hugs, Sandra
