News from my wee farm

I kept my daughter's four children the first week school was out.  What happy kids they are and full of themselves too (if you know what I mean)!  Nicole is holding Flop and Flip is trying to see who that is behind him. Yep, it is Joe alright!  Sarah is next to Nicole - she is the youngest and YES she is in her nightgown.  Caroline is trying to hold on to Flip who wants to play with Joe.

That was a happy week and everyone was healthy.  Then this weekend Floppy got sick - the vet has been out  three times and will come out again this afternoon.  We think Flop will be okay now.  She has had 3 doses of interstitial fluids - antibiotics - something for discomfort - charcoal - steroids and last but not least her pro-biotics for bloat.     The vet also intubated her three times to expel gas and see if  she had more to vomit.   I really did not think she was going to make it.  Goats go down very quickly.  We don't know what her problem is other than she likes to eat.  Flip would not leave her side. She is much, much better!!

That's it for today - thanks for joining me on my new adventure!!!
Sandy

What a cute picture and what beautiful grandchildren you have, Sandy!!! I know all about bloat...a very serious condition and they go down quickly! We lost several animals to bloat!
I'm expecting all my granddogs today....family is leaving for Germany!

What an adorable family photo! Sorry to read about your pet goat (?) being ill. One of our cats just had emergency dental surgery $$$ and is now feeling much better. The poor guy had a cracked tooth, two in decay, he was in pain. He also lost a bunch of other teeth and we have no idea when or how. Take care, Shirleyx

So happy to see the Grandchildren and the little goats. They are all so cute. Wanted you to know I have been to Houston and back home to stay for the summer for sure. I'll bet you miss the kids but will have fun with one for your current trip. Let me know before you go so I'll know you aren't home. Have a great day. Love the kids photos.

Beautiful photo Sandy, the kids all look so happy, bet they had a wonderful week. Glad to hear Flop is doing better, that must have been scary, but to be frank, I've never yet met a goat yet who doesn't like to eat! Hope she continues to recover.

Didn't realise we were talking goats till I reached the end of your narrative! Hope she is fully recovered soon. They do like to eat just about anything though don't they. Got about 10 words picked for the next Alpha challenge beginning with B. Just waiting for one of them to jump of the page and say pick me! Hugs Mrs a.

Beautiful grandchildren, and I'm sure you enjoyed them so much. Also bet you were tired when it was over! Kids take a lot of energy, don't they? Glad to hear Flop is doing better, and that sounds like an expensive tummy problem. Enjoyed hearing about the farm and the children. You can rest up now!!! (at least I hope you can!) Hugs & TFS

hello Sandy.
What adorable grandchildren you have! They are certainly very happy to have fun with grandpa and grandma, and take care of all these animals!
I feel sorry for Flop! Bloating, ... it hurts very much and this little guy certainly did not understand what is happening!
Maybe he eats too fast, and also when the grass is too newly grown, it gives bloating too! I hope he's okay now and can jump again in the meadow!
Hugs Rosi
