A New Year - A New Beginning

This promises to be an exciting year.  I promised myself that I was going to start an art journal and work in it as much as possible.  A great way to try new techniques and follow my heart's desire.  Here is a look at the first pages.  It is dedicated to my grandmother who more or less raised me and gave me unconditional love.  I do miss her but she is always in my heart.  I called her Nanny and my grandchildren call me Nanny.  On the left side of the journal is a picture of Leoda Martin Fisher - my Nanny.

Who knows what tomorrow will bring but I have to say - I am excited about my new journey!

I  am entering my first journal pages in the following challenge:

Inspiration Journal - Fresh Start -  The sky is the limit.

Thank you so much for your visit and comments.  My blog has been all screwed up and I am afraid I lost a lot of information but I will slowly but surely get everything back in shape!  Thanks Anne for all of your help.

Sandy xx

  18. Your Nanny must have been a very special lady. What you grow up seeing is what you become and she must be so proud of you as you are a very special lady yourself. Your art journal will be awesome with all your special people in it. Awesome job on your first pages.

  22. Hey Sandy, Happy New Year. Just saw your link at Anne's, and was able to pop over quickly. I love the picture of your Nan, and she has such a sweet & kind face. Pretty too. The backgrounds & embellishments you have on your album are so pretty. What better way to express your love than in the hearts and I love the flowers against that fab blue & orange color. I'm sure that the creative process will make you feel so close to your Nanny. Hope all is well up in the mountains, and that you don't get any of the 'weather' I hear is on the way. My cousin in Hendersonville said they are to get a 'wintry mix' tonight. Brrr. Big Hugs & hope all is going fine. TFS

  45. What a great tribute to your Nanny! Love this stunning page.

Good luck with your move. I downsized my gardens to a postage stamp sized lot, and downsized the house by about 100 sq feet. But we have a different floor plan...more of a great room style so there are less walls...seems I have a zillion pictures and nowhere to hang them! lol

It has been fun and quite freeing to give things away. I enjoyed the journey to get here and I am enjoying the time setting up the new house.
