It's Christmas in Dixie ..............Merry Christmas Y'all!
I am entering this into the following challenge -
Our Creative Corner - Country or Western - must include a plaid or gingham
My rusted bells do not show up as well as I would like in this picture - and what Southern woman can't make a twig wreath. I don't care where you go here in the South - you can always find something rusted somewhere!!!!
Now I ask you - what could be MORE country than Christmas in Dixie. White lightning cocktails, fried chicken and cornbread, home made biscuits smothered in real butter, green beans cooked with fatback and pinto beans cooked with more fatback. Then you have vinegar pie for dessert and if your Mama is in the mood, she might just make a buttermilk pie too! Now don't forget the sweet tea!!!
I do hope that one day, y'all get to have a real Southern meal. You are welcome in my house anytime!!!!

You are melting my heart!! I love your card, seriously, how gorgeous is the scene and the country papers with rustic embellishments!! I love fat and full bows and then it is adorned perfectly with the bells and wreath. I love the ric rac around the edges too, Awesome card, I love it!

ReplyDeleteWell howdy y'all (that's my southern impression with a Lancashire accent lol). Love your card Sandy its just so rustic and full of charm. The twig heart and rusty bells are delightful. Must admit I quite like the sound of white lightning cocktails but not sure about the vinegar pie. If you came here we could give you pig's trotters, tripe and black pudding washed down with Twisted Witch beer and followed with bread and butter pudding - yummy! Take care my cyber friend xx

LOVELY card! Your bells show up really rusty if the pic is enlarged. Your hearts look like you 'rusted' them also. Love the image and your falling snow. This is MY kind of card. Enjoyed reading the meal fixin's too. Made me drool. Now I think I've heard of vinegar pie, but never had any. Is it like Chess Pie (which is unknown outside the south I believe). Yummy some good ole pintos, red slaw & biscuits made with lard...like Mama used to make! Winter food ...ummm hmmm. TFS

This is a wonderful card. Love the colours and the country feel. I think i have some of those wreaths out in the garage...will have to drag them in..for next years cards!!!
ReplyDeleteYour meal lanning sounds delish...I was in the Carolina's, Alabama and Georgia last year. We had some delicious food and fell in love with those areas! The miles of beaches with barely anyone out just amazed me.
